- 7:15am - 2:30pm daily
- 7:15am - 3:00pm Thursdays
- Extended hours available by request
General Information
The library media center provides students and staff access to over 10,000 books, 500 videos, online subscription databases, magazine subscriptions, and daily newspapers. There are 16 networked computers available for school-related research and word processing. There are 5 laptops for in-library use. Materials may also be requested from the public library system.
Expectations
Students may use the library to do research, complete homework, check out books, or read. Those students visiting the library independently during a class are required to present a library pass and sign in at the desk. During lunch periods students must have a pass signed by a teacher. Students may be turned away if the library is full. No pass is necessary before or after school or during passing periods and breaks. All students must sign in and out each time they enter and leave and are expected to comply with school behavior codes and the internet acceptable use policy.
Overdues
There are no fines for overdue materials, but students will lose borrowing privileges until overdue materials are returned or paid for. Students will receive two notices in school and then a letter home including the cost of replacement. Refunds are available for found materials that were paid for previously. At the end of each semester students with overdue materials will not be allowed to take final exams. Seniors with overdue materials will not receive caps and gowns for graduation ceremonies.
Circulation Periods
- Books - 3 weeks, renewal available if not needed by another patron
- Magazine Current Issues - in library use only
- Magazine Back Issues - overnight (due 7:30am)
- Videos - overnight (due 7:30am)
- Special Reserve Materials - overnight (due 7:30am)
- Reference Materials - in library use only, 3 free copies from each book
